Shakespeare Festival or known as “Shakesfest” is an annual event and celebration of William Shakespeare’s famous works performed by Basic Education Division (BED) students.

Shakesfest started in 2005. Studying William Shakespeare’s work is part of the curriculum where high school students perform different scenes such as Hamlet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Merchant of Venice, and a lot more. This is also part of the performance task of the students.

Metta Assumption Theater helps the students in staging the plays through set design, costume, lights , sounds, and overall stage direction. Metta Artistic Director, Ana Valdes-Lim, also conducts workshop for acting, voice, and diction.
